Give God The Opportunity To Bless You

This bubble machine only worked for like 10 minutes
But it was super cool for those 10 minutes

I want to encourage you today.

I woke up this morning with a thought that I want to share.

It was a phrase that was spoken yesterday morning at our leadership breakfast.

Give God The Opportunity To Bless You!!

How do you do that?  I asked myself that same question and here is what I came up with.

1-Don't rush decisions.  When you wait, you are allowing God to do the work.  He can work it out or He can show you how or what to do.  If we rush, we usually make a mess of things.

2-Pray and then pray and then pray some more.

Even little things, God hears your prayers.

It makes me think of a story my parents told about that when money was extremely tight.  My mother told my dad, "I really would like to have a ham."  They both knew that there wasn't any money to go buy one but you know sometimes you just have a taste for something.  Well guess what?  She got a ham that very night.  Someone brought her a ham.  She didn't call around looking for it, she just made it known to her husband and God.  The thought probably never crossed her mind that there would be a knock at the door.  God heard her.  Did she need the ham?  I don't think so.  I think they had food to eat but God likes to bless his children.  Just like we like to bless ours.

3-Allow God to open the door or to close the door.  Not all blessings are receiving.

A door closed at the right time can save a life.

A door opened at the wrong time, can take one.

I know these may sound like duh answers and maybe they are but I guess I just needed to be reminded.

I pray you have a great day and that as you go through your day, you see the blessings that God has for you.

  1. Great word for every day! Most of us are waiting for the other shoe to drop but how many of us take that shoe and throw it out of the way, giving God the opportunity to Bless !
