Just The Beginning

Today is a Holy Day.  It is a day that we remember the sacrifice made by our Creator and King.  Good Friday, this name confused me so much when I was a little girl.  Jesus died today, why do they call it good?  I never asked the question but I didn't understand why.  Why on a day that we remember death, did someone name it Good Friday?  In my mind, this is the day that should have been called Black Friday.

James 1:17 KJV"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

I know this is not the scripture that most think of at Easter or Good Friday but it is on my heart this morning.  Jesus was the perfect lamb sacrificed for us.  It was and is a gift to us.  Without this sacrifice we would be lost and dying in our sin without any hope for redemption or eternal life.
NO DEATH=NO RESURRECTION=NO HOPE!  Because of today we can boldly approach the throne of God.  He died and made a way for us.  It was His blood that made us Family.  Blood is shed when a child enters the world or should I say, becomes a member of a family.  Jesus' blood was our birth into the family of God (should we accept Him).  Such a wonderful gift.  Yes, without the Resurrection on Easter today would be just a sad day of a prophet who was killed.  BUT  it did not end today, today is just the beginning!!!

I know this may sound so simplistic to some.  That's OK, Jesus made it very simple for us.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believethin Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." SIMPLE

Sunday Morning, all around the world, Christians will assemble and celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus.  Oh what a celebration!!!  DEATH + RESURRECTION=HOPE FOR THE WORLD!!!!

I pray that you have a blessed Easter starting your day in the House of God and celebrating with your family.  We serve a Great God!!!
