I was doing my daily reading and the commentator wrote something that just jumped off my phone screen at me…"God is not freaked out!"
Amazing statement. Life seems to throw so many curve balls at us. We think everything is going one way but when the ball reaches us, it curves the opposite. We get freaked out but God does not.
It's the not knowing that freaks us out. Fear begins to settle into our spirits and we start imagining all the things that can and may go wrong. We think of every possible scenario, the good, the bad and the ugly. As humans, we tend to go to the very worst outcome and convince ourselves that this is the way it will end. BUT…
"…perfect love casts out fear…"
1 John 4:18 NKJV
"God is love. When we take up permanent residence
in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us.
This way, love has the run of the house,
becomes at home and mature in us,
so that we're free of worry on
Judgement Day-our standing in the
world is identical with Christ's.
There is no room in love for fear.
Well-formed love banishes fear.
Since fear is crippling, a fearful life-
fear of death, fear of judgement-
is one not yet fully formed in love."
1 John 4:17-18 MSG
So today, let's rest in His love. In the knowledge that He loves us and He loves those we love. His ability to help is greater than ours, His intentions are pure, His love surpasses ours, His vision is clear, He sees all.
I pray that God gives you hope in the darkness that you will see the light…SOON!!!
